Here’s a conversation I had with a white female waitress at Frankie & Benny’s in Ilford at Miss Sunshine’s birthday dinner.

A while after the waitresse’s remark, I was slightly pissed and thoughT SHHEETT MAN, SHE’S A BITCH.

Last week at Industry Takeover we were treated to free  seminars the UK urban music industry’s biggest names, followed by the performance’s from Ghetts, Griminal, K.I.G., Donaeo and more. Missed it!? This time round the likes of Bryn Christopher, Bashy, Kerry-Anne Leatham look set to provide a mouthwateringly evocative, soulfully edged show for a lucky audience. The event is being held at Stratford Circus on Thursday 19th February 2009.

Reflections of a Window-Washer by Wasalu ‘Lupe Fiasco’ Jaco

The same man that brought us the evocative, haunting, macabre collection of intelligent lyrical pieces, Food & Liquor and The Cool is in the process of writing a book. It’s entitled ‘Reflections of a Window-Washer’ and will follow the release of his final album, L-U-P-End. In Lupe’s words,

It’s about this character who has limited amount of conversation with the world. But he has simulated conversations, as if he had ever went past saying to someone, ”Hi.” It’s a real cerebral kind of piece..99..

Whatever that means :S. 

However, the concepts and initiatives in his music have always been impressive so I’m in eager anticipation of a novelistic portrayal of his ideas, unrestricted by limitations of rhyming convention or instrumentals.

One to look out for.
